While the form of the Museum’s vessel echoes the shape of Greco-Roman amphoras and its animal-headed handles draw from Persian and Central Asian traditions, the original piece is grounded in Chinese artistry, embodying the cosmopolitan spirit of the Tang dynasty (618–907). This fusion of styles is reimagined here in stone-like serenity.
